A Little About How it All Began

Welcome! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my blog! I thought it would be appropriate for my first-ever blog to serve as a bit of an introduction. If you'd like to learn a little about how much I treasure my career here in North Carolina, this is the blog post to read!

If you've read the "About Me" section then it is safe to say that you already know how huge of a passion makeup artistry is for me. I've never been one to believe that makeup is responsible for anyone's beauty, rather I believe that it is just a tool to further bring out the beauty within. This belief is where the motto behind Elisha Seaton Makeup is derived.

I started my career in the Seattle-market where I absolutely thrived off the hectic schedule demanded by working in the highly-competitive film and fashion industries, as well as special fx. My husband is a soldier and as the Army would have it, he came down on PCS orders right as my career was taking off. I was also expecting our first child... When it rains, it pours, right?

We came to the Fort Bragg, North Carolina area right after our oldest daughter was born. While I was over-the-moon about being a mom, my heart ached for everything we had left behind. I thought my career was over. There were days that I questioned why I had ever been lucky enough to taste the world with which I had so very quickly fallen madly in love. As much as I loved getting to spend every day with my sweet little girl, my makeup kit taunted me so terribly that I ended up having to hide it from myself.

Everything changed when I least expected and for that, I am forever grateful. If anyone had even suggested to me that I would be specializing in Boudoir, Bridal, Beauty, and Special Event makeup, I undoubtedly would have chuckled at the thought. Yet, here I am, loving every single minute of it.

I owe so much to my clients; the brides who trust me on the biggest day of their lives, the photographers who entrust me with their beloved clients, and all of my incredible clients who have allowed me into their lives. I truly love each one of you more than you'll ever know!

Elisha Seaton Makeup is about so much more than makeup. It is about connection, passion, and truth. The truth is, you are amazing just as you are and the connection lies in helping you see the truth about yourself. As for the passion, it partly lies in the dreams of that little girl mentioned in my "About Me" page, but I wouldn't be doing her any justice if I didn't grow into a woman who was passionate about empowering her fellow women.

If you made it this far, congratulations! I promise, not all of my blogs will be this long! I would love to hear about what topics you would most enjoy seeing from me in the future, so please, comment below!
